RIMO permanent fabric dyes in the washing machine:

You must use plastic gloves.

1) Empty the white powder and the dye color into the washing machine drum (not in the detergent compartment) and shake the drum to ensure all the dye falls into the holes.

2) Add cooking salt to the washing machine drum (the ratio is 1 kg of salt for 500g of clothes or more) covering the surface where the dye fell.

3) Place the clothes in the washing machine drum (after weighing them), ensuring they are not folded. The clothes must be wet before being placed in the washing machine.

4) Start the washing machine at 50-60 C (complete program) without pre-wash and without detergent.

5) Once the washing machine completes the program, add the detergent (Attention!! It should go into the detergent compartment) and start the complete washing program again without pre-wash at 70 C to remove the excess dye from the clothes.

6) Once the washing machine program is finished, remove and dry the dyed clothes in the shade and not in the sun.

This way, you achieve bright and permanent dyes.

Rimo permanent fabric dyes by hand:

Polyester clothes cannot be dyed.

1) Each 180g dye package is sufficient for 500g of clothes and requires 1 kg of cooking salt. You must use plastic gloves.

2) Wash the clothes, remove any stains, and leave them wet.

3) Dissolve the dye and white powder in one liter of water.

4) In a large basin, place 6 liters of hot water at 60 C.

5) Pour the dissolved dye into the basin and add 1 kg of salt for 500g of clothes or more.

6) Place the clothes in the basin and leave them for one hour, stirring continuously for the first 30 minutes to ensure the dye is evenly distributed on the clothes.

7) During dyeing, the temperature should be stable between 50-60 C.

8) Rinse the clothes with warm water to completely clean off the dye.

9) Finally, rinse the clothes with warm water and liquid detergent and hang them to dry in the shade and not in the sun.

Avoid sudden cooling of the clothes (rinsing) with cold water as it may alter the dimensions (shrinkage).

For a smaller weight of clothes, the amount of dye should be adjusted accordingly.

Useful Tips Before Dyeing

  • Always consult the label for fabric composition and washing instructions.

  • Clothes containing polyester or acrylic fibers do not dye or achieve light shades.

  • When clothes have stains or patterns, the dye does not cover them but changes the shade, so you should clean the clothes of any stains.
  • You need to know which type of RIMO dye you will use.
  • RIMO dyes in box No 1-26 dye cotton, linen, viscose at 60°C in the washing machine or by hand in indelible shades.
  • RIMO dyes in envelope No 31-56 dye cotton, linen, viscose at 90°C in the washing machine or by hand. Wool-cotton, wool, nylon, lycra, silk at 90°C.
  • The shade depends on the weight of the fabric. Greater weight of clothes than stated on the box or envelope achieves a lighter shade, lesser weight of clothes a darker shade.
  • On white clothes, you achieve the shade that is in the sample book. On colored ones, the shade always changes.
  • Fabrics with dark shades, when not dyed with indelible colors, should be bleached with hydrosulfite and then dyed in the desired shade.
