Modern ships are constructed according to the requirements of International Conventions within the framework of the IMO so that they can withstand the difficult and sometimes extreme conditions they may encounter while crossing the vast oceanic expanses where the ship's structure is often tested to its limits.

This book aims to provide Cadet Officers of Naval Academies the opportunity to acquire the basic knowledge of Shipbuilding necessary to be ready to make the right decisions when their turn comes.
