Social Stories are a modern teaching method that can help children with autism understand concepts and learn to function in socially acceptable ways in specific situations. According to Gray (1998), who inspired the method, "a Social Story is a short story that has a specific format and aims to objectively describe a specific situation, a person, an ability, an event, a concept." The book is aimed at primary and secondary education teachers to support their work and the learning process, as well as parents and therapists who deal with the education of individuals with autism and can make use of Social Stories. The book consists of the following sections: The first section presents in detail the scientific background on which the creation of Social Stories was based, which are an educational intervention mainly for children with autism aimed at improving their social skills. Specifically, based on Gray's theory (1998), the importance of teaching Social Skills is mentioned, explaining what Social Stories are as a scientific method, the way to develop and teach Social Skills to children with autism, the goals and content of a Social Story. The method of administration and their use in school, as well as in other contexts outside of school, is explained, as well as their usefulness and effectiveness. The second section presents detailed Social Stories in written and visual material, which relate to the self-awareness of children with autism, their behavior at school, home, their friendships, and their body awareness.
