For the pro 90cm:
It’s good but you need a wetsuit with a chest pad to load it. I can’t imagine anyone loading it without a suit for two reasons: a) thick 19mm bands 27cm, b) a pointed loading butt that isn’t perpendicular to the gun but has a somewhat awkward angle. It hurts a lot, it’s not a matter of strength.
A simple solution is to change the bands and put on two, one looped and one with a wishbone so the pressure is distributed on the chest during loading. Otherwise, you can make a modification to the butt or get a wetsuit. I kept the thick bands it came with and made a modification for loading.
A tip I’d give to those who struggle to load it: pull the bands from lower down and not close to the muzzle. It’s a bit easier to load that way.
After many shots over 4 dives, I see that the Hannibal 1.6mm green monofilament line tied to the shaft starts to loosen and if I don’t tighten it with pliers, it will definitely come off, as other users have mentioned. A second tip is to buy a larger mono (6€ for 10 meters) or dyneema line and pass it twice through the hook.
A third tip is to file the tip evenly with a file, otherwise it won’t shoot straight.
As my first speargun, it’s nice, it’s good for mullet.
Be careful with your fingers, if the shaft isn’t locked well in the gun and you try to load it, the muzzle is thin (horseshoe type) and with the force, it can come down sharp and you risk losing a finger. (Edit, it took mine, because I rushed and the shaft didn’t lock all the way, it scraped my whole finger.)

You can’t use TNT looped with dyneema (instead of a muzzle) because it just cuts the line. I tried it. It needs bands WITH a muzzle because the shaft doesn’t have shark fins BUT notches. Now I have the vertical reel 50, dyneema, double-length Hannibal passed through twice and the same band it came with. Something I notice is that the muzzle hammers the green line and scrapes it during firing. Also, the speargun itself bangs and hits the rail at the same spot. Minor wear that doesn’t affect hunting (as long as it doesn’t cut the line). If I were to buy again, maybe I’d choose a more expensive one.
I didn’t mention buoyancy, i.e. ease of turning or recoil, these don’t exist here, those are features of more expensive guns.

Positives: accurate, very powerful, durable shaft

Negatives: the muzzle with these 19mm bands is dangerous, the loading butt (1st generation) requires a wetsuit or modification or a change of bands.

I completely agree with the review by "pavlos.st 23/10/2023". Amazing weapon, the ultimate value for money. The review concerns the 82 model. As soon as you enter the water, you realize that this gun is no joke: even though it's a single-band, the 19mm Anaconda/6.5mm Sandvic Taitien setup gives it tremendous power at close range, at least for 3.5 meters (roughly 3 shaft lengths). I bought it because my (own) years have passed and I started leaving the deep dives and ambushes behind, focusing on shallow rocky, swimming searches and absolutely meditative spearfishing (shallow spearfishing). In the photo I posted, it's a shot at a white seabream at a depth of 4 meters, where the shaft, after passing through the fish at a distance of 2 meters, got stuck 5 centimeters deep in the base of the rock—it took a couple of attempts to retrieve it. And all this on the first notch (I am experienced, but I did not expect such a shot!). As for loading: no problem, make a hack with a cut old flip-flop at the contact with the sternum and a bit of practice. Even if it had a wider loading butt, the 19mm band is still tough, but nothing too extreme (the shot it delivers is extreme, so it's worth it). Attention: the trigger is very sensitive: keep your finger OUT of the guard until you're ready to shoot! Also, the trigger safety is a bit vague, but it will probably improve with use (I used a bit of good quality lubricant, the same I use for my shotgun, and it improved a lot—that's what you see in the photo). RECOMMENDATION: Use gloves, even in summer, to avoid finger injuries in case the wishbone doesn't sit well on the notch (the band, I repeat, is very strong). It is absolutely accurate, almost 100%, flexible for searching, you handle it comfortably from the first moment. The only drawback is the moderate buoyancy, but we're talking about an aluminum single-band, you can't have everything—besides, it's ultra-light and very well balanced overall. In conclusion: a tool for all (relatively close) uses. Ideal for beginners, the gun itself helps you. If I remember, I'll update after some time about its durability (to see how it handles rocks over time). Excellent purchase...

Edit 14/9/2025: After a year of use, the review remains the same, if you get used to the very strong bands during loading, it's hard to let this gun out of your hands. The loading butt recently failed and broke at the moment of loading (tough, half the recoil was absorbed by my abs with a small bruise), maybe it needs a wider butt. The safety (very convenient and relatively silent) indeed improved after some time of use.
I'm also posting a photo, without the butt and the pin.

I have done 3 fishing trips so far with this gun (I also have the 82 and the 90 pro), coming from a 75 with a reel... From the second fishing trip onwards, I had tremendous accuracy. So the gun is incredibly accurate. The shaft has already hit rocks and it hasn't bent or anything. Just file the tip a little from hitting it hard and it's ready. Really, the loading is very easy (I have made a makeshift construction with a latex band passed through a flip-flop sole and I add it additionally to the chest where I have no problem and it works well). The grip is good, the trigger is sensitive! Be careful when loading, always make sure it clicks, keep your fingers away from the trigger in general (a slight pressure is enough to shoot) and when loading, always check that the spear is properly inserted into the notch and not crooked due to haste or incorrect loading technique. SAFETY FIRST and happy diving!

EDIT: I have been fishing with this gun for 8 months every week, it is incredibly good and accurate. The shaft hasn't suffered any damage, it just needs regular filing if you encounter rocks. Get it with your eyes closed. Very powerful and when the bands wear out, you can get a smaller size and it will be just like the old set

Very good spear gun, I must say, for the fishing I do, waiting in shallow waters, searching and swimming. As the owner of the pro 90 closed head, I am completely satisfied. If you learn how to handle the weapon, you can shoot at quite long distances, but it requires trust and self-confidence because long shots can be intimidating. The 19mm bands are sufficient for this gun, and there is no need for exaggeration with double bands, etc., as stronger tension will cause bending of the barrel. The only negative aspect that someone might notice after years of use is the buoyancy, especially with white fish that can move faster. The mechanism is flawless, no issues in the 4-5 years that I have had it, and the barrel is simply amazing - incredible flexibility and a great alloy that provides incredible resistance to impacts on rocks, stones, etc. I don't understand the comments that these guns are not armed as they come from the manufacturer. Band guns require strength to arm, and yes, the second notch requires more strength than the first, but it's a matter of getting used to it. I am relatively fit, but I have friends who are twice my weight and muscle mass and they can't even arm the first notch. Arming is also a matter of technique. The only thing I would change is perhaps an open head for faster arming and better accuracy, but again, I have noticed these things after many fishing trips. A beginner who wants to get into spearfishing will make the best choice if they choose this gun, both the 90 and the 82, although I would recommend the 90 because once they gain experience, the 90 will feel more convenient. This barrel is exactly what the gun needs, no need for any changes. Also, definitely switch to a reel after some time when the fisherman's skills improve, but I would recommend it from the beginning because you never know what fish will appear in front of you. If I were to make a new purchase, it would be for something more powerful for longer shots and bigger fish, although with this specific gun, you can catch quite large fish.

Hey guys over at Pathos, do you think that bodybuilders, after finishing their land program, go for sea with the 82 pro? Let me explain. The setup of the gun with the RUBBER it wears is WRONG, wrong, wrong unless you hire a gunsmith to load it. And the first step with its own bell is difficult. I loaded it with a longer bell and a chest pad (first step, of course). After the third shot, I abandoned the fight because the excessive pressure on my chest caused pain - suffering from Pathos. The excessively small HEEL is also partly responsible, which I don't see offering anything. As for the SAFETY, to be sure it is engaged, you must use the index finger of your left hand while holding the gun with your right (too short). The GRIP now, for those of you with shovel hands - even with gloves - will feel small (most will manage). So is the gun bad? On the contrary, it is powerful and accurate, and if the guys - as we said - set it up differently (and the SAFETY THE SAFETY) it will shine. So when you order the gun, add a pair of rubbers. And one question. Does the textured tube help anywhere other than sanding our hand on some crooked surface? 30/10/2024 I see that some say you don't know how to load. Don't listen to anything. The gun DOES NOT load unless you want to leave with a finger less.
