Description

Stepping outside the series of albums titled Mass I-VI, De Doorn undertakes a 21-year journey from the heart of Belgium's hardcore scene to world-renowned, spiritually guided innovators with an exciting new light.

De Doorn is a conceptual album connected to a ritual performed by the band at the SMAK Museum of Contemporary Art in the 19th-century Citadelpark, filled with monuments of Ghent, in May 2019. They offered a communal acknowledgment of loss and release. Here, audience members were invited to make their own offerings by placing personal notes of acknowledgment on wooden structures created by the Indonesian artist Toni Kanwa Adikusumah, before being brought out into the park and lit as an act of acknowledgment and release.
