This present work titled "Journey to Mount Athos" emphasizes the alternative pilgrimage routes that visitors wish to undertake in order to gain an insight into the natural/environmental setting, the monks, and their daily/spiritual activities.

At the same time, there is an effort to present individual topics that are not fully or at all covered by the existing literature, such as: a description of the monastic services, a glossary, a comparative depiction of the characteristics of the Macedonian/Cretan School of Iconography, the correspondence of "Byzantine/Cosmic Time" in the holy institutions, etc.

Finally (instead of a conclusion), the memories/impressions of individuals from their stay/visit to Mount Athos are recorded.
