The Signal Fire AI-9 fusion splicer connects SM, MM, DS and NZDS optical fibers with core alignment and image magnification of up to 300×. The splicing time is 5 s, and the heating time is 15 s. It features a built-in optical power meter and visual fault locator.

The meter operates at wavelengths of 850/1300/1310/1490/1550/1625 nm. Software features are available through an Android and iOS app, while advanced settings can be configured from a mobile device. The device includes an automatic splicing and heating program and comes with a carrying case with a tool drawer, as well as accessories.
