It is paradoxical how little people are willing to do today for what they say they desire greatly. They have not ceased to declare that they would like to experience love. If one listens more attentively, one will understand what they really mean: they mean for a feeling to come from somewhere that surrounds them with favors, with care, with caresses towards the ego that will perceive them as if they were owed from a long time ago.
They expect to be loved just as they expect to utilize the properties of something useful that is added to their household items. This is where the confusion between "I like" and "I love" stems from. From this point, a stagnation begins that erodes all feelings, thoughts, and decisions.
The forces of inertia would like to kill desire and love so that they do not remind people that life is ready to gestate, if they wish, and to leave behind some works. Incapable of yearning for something else, humanity seems to want to embrace death.
It may reach suicide violently, through destructiveness. However, it may also proceed to the same end quietly, languidly, through small pleasures. What could possibly prevent such an undignified end?
