New changes to the already frequently amended original laws 3588/2007 "Bankruptcy Code" and 3869/2010 "Regulation of the debts of over-indebted individuals and other provisions" were brought about, in particular, by Laws 4336/2015 (Government Gazette A' 94/14.8.2015) and 4346/2015 (Government Gazette A' 152/20.11.2015).

Many older provisions were amended and new ones introduced to regulate – in view of the economic crisis – the debts of businesses and individuals.

All these, along with others to a lesser extent, that occurred up to the end of August 2016, created the need for this sixth edition of this volume.
