Assassin's Creed III is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal in 2012. It is the fifth main installment in the Assassin's Creed series and a direct successor to the 2011 game Assassin's Creed: Revelations. The game is set in an open world and presented from a third-person perspective, with an emphasis on using each playable character's combat and stealth skills to eliminate targets.

Connor has the opportunity to freely explore Boston, New York, and the American frontier of the 18th century, completing side missions away from the main story. After more than 20 years of conflict, the 13 American Colonies and the British Empire are preparing to go to war.
