Who was the enigmatic professor Stratis Andreidis? The man who was loved by generations of students and served repeatedly as rector at ASOEE, leaving an indelible mark on Greek shipping and the shipowner sector. Founder of Elefsina Shipyards and the Phosphate Fertilizer Industry, he directed many banks and was the architectural force behind the giant of the Commercial Bank Group. However, his control was delayed by the political developments of the time, with nationalization that was later condemned by the European Court of Human Rights. Fragmentary answers to these questions can be found in the Greek press, but many are unhistorical or carelessly documented. The life of Stratis Andreidis, a "Renaissance Man," is crucial to the post-war Greek economic history. To this day, his personal narrative comes to light, offering his own truth.
