Description

An unprecedented explosion in forest maps characterizes the years 2016 to 2019. This phenomenon permeates general legislative production, dominates case law, and resonates in theory.

The law governing forest maps, as an integral part of Land Registration Forestry Law, is systematically processed in the work of D. H. Papasteriou, emeritus professor of Law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, under the title "Forest Maps". The existing forest maps are significantly flawed. They lack accuracy, completeness, and clarity.

Such imperfect forest maps unjustifiably delay the expected and necessary Forestry Register and push a genuine and comprehensive National Land Registry into the distant future. The identification of these shortcomings is accompanied by well-substantiated proposals, firmly based on case law consistent with the Constitution, culminating in Council of State 685/2019.

The "Forest Maps" are a tool addressed to every scientist, forester, surveyor, and lawyer, as well as to every citizen of the law seeking responsible information about the forestry and land registration developments in the territory.
