Description

PLA filament Satin Scarlet 1.75 mm 500 g, manufactured in the Netherlands, offers high quality and consistent diameter, ensuring an exceptional 3D printing experience. PLA is ideal for beginners as it is easy to use, delivering impressive results.

PLA (polylactic acid) is one of the oldest and most commonly used materials in the 3D printing community, mainly due to its advantages as a versatile and eco-friendly thermoplastic. It is organic and biodegradable, while it can be blended with other components to influence its final properties, such as flexibility.

The unmodified form of Real PLA has a translucent off-white color and operates at printing temperatures between 195 - 205 degrees. Darker shades may require slightly higher temperatures due to the coloring process. The filament should extrude smoothly and have a slightly glossy appearance.

PLA is denser and more durable than ABS, but it is more brittle and sensitive to cracking under heavy loads. Additionally, its resistance to environmental factors (UV light and water) is lower compared to other common thermoplastics like Nylon, ABS, and PETG.

PLA prints well on a non-heated surface using Blue Painters tape or Kapton tape, as well as most 3D printing adhesive stickers. It is recommended to use sprays like 3DLAC on glass surfaces. A low bed temperature between 50 - 60 degrees reduces the chances of warping and facilitates the removal of the final print once the surface has cooled down.

Review this product
  • This review is about the colour: Yellow

Very good finish, especially if you use octagram spiral on the top surface pattern of the Orca Slicer. It "catches" the light very beautifully. Be careful with the temperatures; those given on the label were not satisfactory.
