The integrated optical shift mechanism allows movement of +/- 11mm on Full Frame bodies and +/- 8mm in Medium Format. This feature completely eliminates the keystone effect and converging lines in tall buildings, allowing architectural and interior photographers to capture straight geometry directly in-camera without the need for digital correction.
The Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift by Venus Optics is a specialized wide-angle lens for Sony E-mount camera owners. It offers precise control over lines in architectural photography and interior spaces thanks to its built-in shift mechanism. Its advanced, near-zero-distortion optical design ensures straight lines and high sharpness across the entire frame. It supports Full Frame and Medium Format sensors, with an adapted range of movement. It includes a rotating lens hood to protect against unwanted reflections and a 14-blade aperture.
Shift Mechanism & Perspective Control
The integrated optical shift mechanism allows movement of +/- 11mm on Full Frame bodies and +/- 8mm in Medium Format. This feature completely eliminates the keystone effect and converging lines in tall buildings, allowing architectural and interior photographers to capture straight geometry directly in-camera without the need for digital correction.
Zero-D Design & Advanced Optical Elements
The rectilinear Zero-D design minimizes the optical distortions commonly found in ultra-wide-angle lenses. The system incorporates 3 extra-low-dispersion elements and 2 aspherical elements, significantly reducing chromatic aberrations and circular distortions while ensuring high sharpness and contrast across every corner of the frame.
Anti-Reflective Coating & Rotating Lens Hood
The lens features a state-of-the-art anti-reflective coating that prevents ghosting and keeps images clear in bright lighting conditions. In addition, the rotating lens hood adjusts to the shooting angle to prevent unwanted flares, while also allowing screw-on front filters with a diameter of 82mm.
Close Focusing Distance: 25 cm & 14-Blade Aperture
With a minimum focusing distance of just 25cm, the lens allows you to creatively approach foreground subjects while keeping the background wide. The circular aperture with 14 blades helps create crisp starburst effects around light sources, and the lens is compatible with an optional tripod support mechanism for maximum stability during shift movements.
