Description & Specifications

Collection of 6 Animalia No 8 pocket knives with a wooden carved laser-etched handle and Inox blade.

Safety ring that locks the blade in an open or closed position (Virobloc double safety ring). The Virobloc safety ring was invented and implemented in 1955, significantly improving the original capability of the knife by preventing the blade from opening when closed and from closing when open.

The blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 steel with a hardness of 57 HRC, which is highly resistant to corrosion due to the addition of chromium and very durable due to its high carbon content. It is stainless and maintains its sharp edge very well.

To enjoy your Opinel pocket knife for a long time, maintenance is key. A layer of oil from time to time will prevent the wood from drying out and ensure that it does not lose its color. Don’t forget to grease the locking mechanism to keep the ring functioning smoothly. You can sharpen the blade back to razor sharpness with sharpening stones.

Always store your knife properly in a suitable case to avoid damage to the blade or handle.
