Lohmann Rauscher’s Cellona plaster bandage consists of 17 threads of woven gauze and porous calcium sulfate plaster. It is immersed in water for 3–4 minutes, where it absorbs water quickly and evenly and develops a creamy texture for easy handling and molding. The cast is safe to transport after 30 minutes and dries completely within 12–24 hours.
