In the photo, we see the cat that I wanted to catch for spaying and veterinary check (since I've been feeding her for 2 years now and she keeps having kittens), being fed inside the trap. The mechanism is terrible, it never closes because the cat simply doesn't step on the pedal (which she needs to step on for the door to close), she just eats without stepping on it and walks out like a lady. The mechanism is anyway terrible, I wonder about the positive comments, it doesn't do its job. It's also dangerous because the little rubber piece under the door is ridiculously small, almost non-existent, and it would definitely injure her tail if it closed on it. If I could turn back time, I would spend another 50 bucks to get a decent trap that is actually a trap and not a feeder.
Στη φωτογραφία βλέπουμε την γάτα που ήθελα να πιάσω για στείρωση και κτηνιατρικο έλεγχο (αφου την ταιζω 2 χρόνια τώρα και κάνει συνέχεια γατάκια), να την ταιζω μέσα στην παγίδα. Ο μηχανισμός είναι χάλια, δεν κλείνει ποτέ γιατί απλά η γάτα δεν πατάει το πεντάλ (που πρέπει να πατήσει για να κλείσει η πόρτα), απλά τρώει χωρίς να το πατάει και βγαίνει κυρία.
Ο μηχανισμός είναι ούτως ή άλλως χάλια, απορώ με τα θετικά σχόλια, τη δουλειά του δεν την κάνει.
Είναι και επικίνδυνη γιατί το λαστιχακι που έχει κάτω από τη πόρτα είναι αστεία μικρό, σχεδόν ανυπαρκτο και θα τραυματιζε σίγουρα την ουρά της αν έκλεινε πάνω στην ουρά της.
Αν γύριζα το χρόνο πίσω θα έδινα άλλο ένα 50αρικο, να έπαιρνα μια παγίδα της προκοπής που να είναι όντως παγίδα και όχι ταιστρα.
The trap works normally, I just have some tips to make the process easier for you:
1) Place the food at the back of the trap and not on the platform where the cat is supposed to step, because when I tried it that way, the cat could simply reach the food by stretching its neck without stepping on the platform, so the trap would not close.
2) It helps to cover the trap with a blanket (except for the entrance where the cat will go in). When I tried it without a blanket, the cat saw the bars and, being suspicious, chose to leave rather than go inside.
3) Use sardine canned food and they won't be able to resist the smell at all.
4) If you are worried it might open, it's good to secure it wherever you think necessary with a tyre up. Also, keep the blanket on during the transport of the cat so it can't see outside and get more stressed.
5) If after some uses you see that the trap's mechanism "sticks" and the cat needs to press hard on the platform for the door to close, then with a little oil and cotton you can rub the metal parts and joints a bit and it will close much more easily again.

Good construction. The top door significantly helps compared to other designs that don't have it. I was tired of having to bend and balance to put the food inside and then again every time it needed to be moved.
Something that could be improved is to have a little more padding on the bottom part of the falling door, both to reduce noise (and panic for the cat) and to avoid tail injuries.
Καλη κατασκευη. Το πορτακι απο πανω βοηθαει σημαντικα σε σχεση με αλλες ιδιου σχεδιασμου που δεν το εχουν. Ειχα βαρεθει να πρεπει να τεντωνομαι και να ισσοροπω για να βαλω το φαι μεσα και αντε παλι τα ιδια καθε φορα που πρεπει να γινει μετακινηση.
