It coats the urethra by creating a smooth layer between the urethral mucosa and the catheter or other medical tool for which the use of this gel is deemed necessary.

The Konix Sterile Catheter Gel with lidocaine is used prior to examination to alleviate pain caused by irritation of the urethra. Additionally, it provides painless and comfortable catheterization due to its properties as an anesthetic.

The antiseptic action protects patients from infections that may occur between the bladder and the upper part of the urethra due to iatrogenic contamination.
