This review is about a variation of the product

    Excellent quality automatic Seiko watch.

Update: After almost 3 years of wearing it, I have to say that it is by far the best watch I have ever bought. I have worn several watches from much more expensive Swiss brands, but this one is amazing for everyday use and I wouldn't change it for anything. Lightweight and sturdy at the same time, easy-to-read day-date, beautiful, easily combined with a leather strap, and the best part is that it is automatic at this price! The ultimate value for money!

This review is about a variation of the product

A watch that looks much more expensive. Excellent quality construction, very beautiful case that shows the "right size" for a dress watch and average wrist, ideal case diameter of 38mm instead of something. I didn't like the bracelet, it "pinches hairs" and looks flimsy and cheap (especially from the side, where the "links" are not solid but pressed). I put a black 18mm leather strap on the watch and it transformed from ordinary to a beautiful dress watch! It is quite legible for a white-silver dial, although initially I had reservations about the light color as a fan of dark dials on watches, but once I saw the watch with the black classic strap, I can't stop looking at it, it is beautiful, exudes quality every day, and it is never difficult to read, while the lume is quite good especially on the hands, mediocre on the periphery (there are better SEIKO 5 watches in this regard). The movement of the watch is the automatic 7S26C, it does not wind manually, nor does the second hand stop when setting the time. Personally, it doesn't bother me. It is a simple mechanism, very reliable, easy to service by any technician, economical, and if you are lucky - like in my case - very accurate! My SEIKO 5 piece, worn 24/7 on average, is at -2.7 seconds/day, which is a super performance for a watch of this value! Maybe I'm lucky, I've heard that generally these watches usually lead by 10-20 seconds/day in practice. Finally, I have to say that regarding the design of the case, although it looks somewhat strange from the photos, with this double beveling especially on the profile and lugs, when you see it up close, it immediately wins you over, it gives size to the watch and an interesting shape that the more you look at it, the more you like it! Needless to say, the watch is highly recommended and one will definitely not regret their purchase, as an affordable mechanical watch of course.

The review concerns two watches (one with a rating of 4, the other with a rating of 2.5).

The first and main thing in a watch is accuracy, that's why it is purchased, for the independent way of knowing the time. Of course, there is also convenience, when at certain times and in certain situations, looking at the time on your phone is not convenient, or it can ruin a beautiful moment. However, a watch is a piece of jewelry that should adorn the wrist and not be a burden, and it should personally suit you, as well as your work style and location.

This particular watch is beautiful, relatively sturdy, clear even in the dark, and quite durable in falls, which I have tested in construction site conditions several times. Its appearance is such that it is both youthful and classic. I have the same watch in a different design (silver/gold) that is not suitable for all occasions. Both watches are also completely waterproof, at least when I swim, shower, or wash my hands, but I am not a frogman.

The differences between the two watches are as follows: The other one never loses a second, even if I haven't worn it for days (until it stops, of course, like all automatic watches). This particular one loses a minute every 8 hours and needs winding. I have had the other one for over 20 years. I have had this particular one for 6 years. Without a doubt, I will buy Seiko again and trust the company, but I would like to have an independent service center specializing in Seiko in every area. Similarly, I also have a Zenith watch that my father used to wear before me, which is currently 40 years old and still doesn't lose a second.

Nevertheless, the Seiko 5 watches are generally discreetly beautiful, relatively heavy (in the right way heavy) even though their bracelets are not as sturdy in feel. In any case, they are suitable for ages over 30. After all, automatic watches generally require a commitment that suits older ages and mindsets.
