The airplane was flying smoothly towards the Iberian Peninsula, steadily, without any of those sudden turbulences that always terrified her. No matter how many trips she had taken in her life, and she had taken quite a few, she never managed to get used to air pockets. She literally trembled at them. Perhaps because on a return trip from Austria, over the usually turbulent Alps, above their sharp sword-like peaks and through their icy winds, the flight hardships she experienced many years ago surely left panic scars on all those passengers. But today, the aircraft, like a victorious knight of the skies, confident in itself, was slicing through the bright morning dome with such assurance that it transmitted it to her as well. She had done very well to choose to fly early in the morning. In the mornings, a person feels stronger, more positive, and more optimistic. The flight did not have many passengers today heading to Barcelona; perhaps it was still early for the numerous tourists as well as the northern or Japanese groups to go on vacation, although she heard that spring was already sparkling in Spain.
