The Levenhuk LabZZ Tellurion is a tabletop mechanical model that demonstrates the orbit of the Earth and the Moon around the Sun. It will teach children why there are seasons, how the phases of the Moon change, and why the year has twelve months.
The Tellurion is mounted on a base, and all its parts are connected with gears. The models of the Earth and the Moon move with the rotation of a small crank. At the center of the orbital mechanism, there is a model of the Sun with internal lighting. The Sun's lamp is turned on with a button located underneath the base.
The Earth model revolves around the Sun in a counterclockwise direction. With the help of the Tellurion, you can observe the changing seasons. Each time the Earth completes one full orbit around the Sun, the Moon completes twelve orbits around the Earth, which corresponds to the 12 months of the year.
