  • for thin wires it works just fine. You need to have thin solder so it can melt it properly. If you want to solder thicker wire it won't work, it's not powerful enough to heat very thick metal. I would say it is for wires up to 1 millimeter thick

  • failure. I got it as a battery soldering iron to solder LED strips on ceilings to avoid wiring. it didn't work without the wire but even with the wire, its temperature wasn't enough to heat the solder. my personal opinion. (I don't know if I got a defective one). ended up in the trash
