Description

Description

The Wes Anderson Collection: Isle of Dogs is the only book that offers readers a behind-the-scenes look at the beloved film by the famous director. Through several in-depth interviews with film critic Lauren Wilford, Wes Anderson reveals the story behind the conception and production of Isle of Dogs, while he and his collaborators share delightful anecdotes about the film's creation process, their sources of inspiration, and many other elements of the art of stop-motion animation. The book is accompanied by unpublished behind-the-scenes photographs, artistic drawings, as well as handwritten notes and storyboards.

Isle of Dogs tells the story of Atari Kobayashi, a 12-year-old ward to the corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by executive decree, all pet dogs of the city of Megasaki are exiled to a massive garbage dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a mini Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his guard dog, Spots. There, with the help of a group of newfound friends, he embarks on an epic journey that will determine the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.

The Collection is the fourth volume of the New York Times bestselling Wes Anderson series and remains true to the rich design and colorful illustrations, capturing Anderson's distinctive aesthetic and bringing the study of his filmography up to date.
