I remember that, in the past, we used to pass by the center of Immediate Action every day, and later, by the headquarters of the Greek Police, where we would obtain the so-called "crime and incident report" from the responsible officer. This report contained all the recorded incidents of the twenty-four hours, many of which were funny and strange.

Several of these "strange" incidents were written in special humorous columns in the newspapers or magazines we worked for, and I can say that they were read with particular interest by the reading public. Therefore, I have selected from my archive these amusing stories, and after processing them, I realized that they could be published in a book that would be interesting for today's reader, who will be entertained, will smell the fragrance of an era, and perhaps, will understand human nature a little better.

In this book, which you are now holding in your hands, I have documented over three hundred incidents, all of them real, from forty years of journalistic career, spanning the period from 1970 to 2010. These are not merely strange, amusing, and entertaining events that will simply lift your spirits; in my opinion, they are also educational, something I have aimed for not only in this book but in all the books I have written to date.

Without intending in any way to be a teacher, I try for the reader to benefit from the reading, so that they do not become easy victims of fraudsters and various lawbreakers.
