The innocent is the only wise person. All humans are born ignorant and foolish, or as the ancient Greek expression aptly puts it, silly. The child is a pure fool. They do not know that they do not know. They have not yet realized the possibility of knowing. When you know nothing, it is hard to feel misery. You cannot create hell without knowledge.
The more a person learns, the more they detach from the natural wisdom with which they were born. Gradually, from the very first years of their life, they transform into a pure "brain." They become a complex and complicated being. Thus, every child while being born wise, through knowledge transitions into folly. And from simple folly to complex, intricate folly.
But, no matter how you look at it, the temptation for knowledge is great. Whoever knows can manipulate. The computer does not possess intelligence, but it does have memory. It can hold as much information as you feed it.
The foolish person can become a great scholar, an internationally famous scholar, but essentially, they are nothing more than a computer. All their knowledge is simply information. It is their memory, not their experience. So, what is knowledge? Another provocative teaching from the significant spiritual teacher Osho, contributing to internal transformation.
