When I was little, I loved the whole world. I adored my grandmother, my little rooster Manolakis, and Andrikos. My "I love you" could contain the world and everyone in it. I even loved my parents and my sister, although I never admitted it.
I had such a need to justify them for their harshness and indifference that I always found reasons to do so. On the nights when I lay down, when I said my prayers, I begged God to see something within me that would make them love me too.
After the repeated blows I suffered, my "o" couldn't take it anymore. It gradually began to close its charming curves and suffocated all that I had crammed inside it. Until it ultimately became "o". And my "I love yous" transformed into misspelled and awkward "I love". How many people can fit into a small "o"? They squeezed in and burst.
So now, my "o" holds one and only love. The love I feel for myself...
