The Axion is designed for continuous, often harsh use. A magnesium alloy housing is lightweight yet strong. The housing reliably protects the internal components of a thermal imaging device from shocks, drops, moisture, heat, or cold. At the same time, a metal housing effectively dissipates heat from the electronics, minimizes image noise, and increases the consistency of the device's operation during prolonged observation.

A high-capacity APS5 rechargeable battery provides up to 11 hours of continuous operation of the thermal imaging device with a single charge. The battery is removed from the battery compartment and replaced with a new one in seconds. The battery is charged in a special charger or inside the device from a computer, household electrical system, or power bank via USB-C. The same sources are used for external power supply of a thermal imaging device.

In the Axion 2 XQ thermal imaging devices, the standard smartphone connection frequency range via the 2.4 GHz WiFi channel is complemented by an active 5 GHz range. The 5 GHz connection offers better bandwidth, faster data transfer rate, noise reduction, and improved connection stability, resulting in more productive and easier operation of the thermal imaging device with a smartphone.

The Germanium F35/1.0 lens offers high infrared transmission in the LWIR range. Due to the high precision manufacturing of the lens's optical elements, the image produced by the Axion 2 XQ thermal imaging device's sensor is distinguished by its clarity and detail.

Understanding target distance is an essential factor for making the right decisions. An integrated laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1 kilometer allows you to measure distances in single measurements but also features a continuous scanning function with an accuracy of ± 1 meter for quick and error-free situation assessment.

The Axion 2 XQ35 is equipped with a Lynred European-made sensor, with a resolution of 384x288 pixels (pixel size 17 microns), which qualitatively captures a useful signal under difficult observation conditions, such as rain, fog, and high atmospheric humidity at the observation point.

The Axion 2 XQ features a built-in video recorder. The internal memory of the Axion 2 XQ can store several hours of video and tens of thousands of photos. A single press of a button is enough to capture a photo of an interesting scene or start recording video. The material is copied to a computer hard drive via a USB-C port. The owner of the Axion 2 XQ has 16 GB of free disk space for storing photos and videos taken with the device in the Pulsar cloud storage. Simply install the Stream Vision 2 mobile app, log in, and connect the device to a smartphone via WiFi.

A powerful F35/1.0 objective lens combined with a high-sensitivity 640x480 thermal imaging sensor provides excellent detection capabilities. A typical 1.8-meter tall object can be detected up to 1750 meters away in absolute darkness.

The digital zoom, up to 4x, provides enhanced focus and better overall object recognition at significant distances. The zoom changes either gradually in 2x steps or continuously for a truly optimal, customized field of view for specific situations.

The Axion 2 thermal imaging devices are suitable for viewing large areas, observing in motion, or for moving objects – the linear field of view is 21.9 m at a distance of 100 m or 12.5° in angular values. The "Picture-in-Picture" function activates an additional window at the top of the screen, in which the central area of the observed scene is magnified 2, 4, or x8 times. This allows for the combination of the informational content of a wide field of view with detailed observation of the selected object.

The choice of 8 color palettes allows the user to observe their field of view more effectively, enabling them to optimize the unit for specific tasks as well as respond to changing observation conditions. White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are best for object detection, Rainbow and Ultramarine help increase the chances of recognition and identification. Red Monochrome, Sepia, and Violet are most suitable for night observation.

The built-in WiFi connects the Axion 2 XQ with Android and iOS smartphones via the Stream Vision 2 mobile app. This opens up a wide range of options, such as wireless device software updates, real-time image transmission from the device to the smartphone screen, posting on social media of photo and video content captured by the device or transferring to messenger, controlling and operating the device's functions, and accessing the latest news from Pulsar. Additionally, registered users receive 16 GB of cloud storage for photos and videos recorded with the device.

The Axion 2 XQ features a space-saving design and pocket-sized dimensions, weighing 350 grams. The device is easy to grip and operate for both right-handed and left-handed users due to its symmetrical design and the arrangement of buttons in a row on the top panel.

A high-contrast VGA resolution AMOLED display offers improved color performance, energy savings, and quick response, delivering sharp and smooth images that can be observed even in freezing conditions.
