- Apply lubricant to the tip and along the length of the catheter.
- Carefully place the tip of the catheter into the bladder and then push an additional 3 cm to ensure that the catheter balloon is inside the bladder.
- Using a needleless syringe, fill the catheter balloon with distilled water or saline. It is recommended that the amount of fluid be as indicated on the catheter funnel.
- To remove the catheter, you can cut the filling funnel or use a needleless syringe to push the valve in the funnel to facilitate catheter drainage.
