I have had it for almost 8 years, and the switches click like they did in the beginning. It has a crystal-clear sound with a great punch in the bass. If you have a good expensive motherboard, it has a DAC, so connecting it directly to the amplifier with a jack to RCA is the best choice if you have a serious vintage stereo. Otherwise, the v90 is the best choice.

I've had it for a year and I'm absolutely satisfied. It's not an aune s16, nor a chord mojo, nor a giant killer. It's transparent (neither warm nor cold nor anything—check the measurements, it outputs exactly what it receives, and that's the role of every proper implementation) across the entire spectrum and a completely fair approach in terms of cost from Musical Fidelity.
Very good DAC, nothing is missing in terms of inputs, quality, and performance at a reasonable cost. The only possible drawback (personally it doesn't bother me) is the lack of DSD... As for the linear power supply that previous reviewers mentioned, since the MF one stopped being produced and is quite expensive anyway (as are the aftermarket Chinese implementations), check with Fanos in Athens. It improves quite a bit with the pack, especially in the lows (tighter) (the power supply should be 12 volts and 1A, even if the factory one says 12V and 0.5A). So, it's worth it.
18/06/2021: All these years it has worked as it should, so in terms of quality, it's now proven to be just fine.
15/12/23: We continue, and so many years later, it's still like the first day.
07/06/2026: Now, due to a short circuit in the power strip, the v90 burned out and I replaced it with the d50iii topping to go in the opposite direction and try the analytical chips... the sabre chips extract much more information, but they can't match the musicality of the v90 for any reason. I've moved up quite a bit in category and with other components in my system, so now I know that the v90 is made for listening to music with your soul, not for worrying about measurements, and ultimately that's its great value.

I have it only a few days and it really changed the sound of my computer and CD player. I haven't heard any other DACs, so I can't give it a perfect rating. I think the evaluation of What's HiFi site is correct. In a few words, it provides clarity and purity to the sound, especially bringing the mids slightly forward and giving detail that I have never heard before. What I noticed in these few hours of listening is that the tempo of the songs gives me the feeling that it's slightly behind. However, I don't know if this happens with all DACs or if my perception is deceiving me. What is certain is that the sound is so sweet and effortless, and it definitely deserves its price. I also read in some reviews that changing the power supply improves the sound. If someone has tried something like this, it would be good to give us an answer and a suggestion for a power supply

Excellent dac for the money it costs, upgrades the sound of devices with digital output (dvd, bluray, media players but also affordable cd players), while in combination with a laptop or pc and a signal in the usb input, one has a very good computer audio system (it does not play dsd files but I think at this price level it doesn't matter much). They have also corrected some ergonomic flaws that the previous v-dac model (I and II) had, such as the input selection with a switch and of course the on-off capability of the device. If you want to improve its sound, you can replace the switchable power supply that comes with the device with a stabilized one and the sound improves quite a bit, mainly in the low frequencies, but even with its own power supply, the sound is very good. I think it is the most affordable way (for a dac with external power supply and not from the usb) to set up a computer audio system with excellent sound for its cost.
