The waterproofing works perfectly, I wore it in England while it was raining without an umbrella and nothing got wet inside. It has been 7 months since I got it and it still holds up well, the zippers or anything haven't broken. I always take it with me to the airport and I can fit all my things inside while also having my laptop, tablet, chargers, power bank, headset... In the side pocket, I can also fit an umbrella and a water bottle and they don't easily fall out even though it doesn't have an elastic band. I often leave it on the floor (not carefully) with my laptop inside and it hasn't damaged the laptop at all. In the main compartment, notebooks and a pencil case can fit, but I wouldn't recommend it for a child aged 6-18 as it doesn't have enough space for many books and notebooks for all the different subjects they may have in the same day or at the tutoring center.
