Some time ago, while searching for information online regarding a matter related to Orthodoxy, we came across a website that mentioned various saints who are patron saints of cities. Our attempt to find information about Saint Heracleios led to disappointment, as we realized that there was no mention of his being the patron saint of Heraklion Attica.

However, the fact that Saint Heracleios is the patron saint of their city is not widely known even among the residents of Heraklion.

The aim of this publication is, on the one hand, to provide the opportunity for the saint to be honored more broadly by the Christian community, and on the other hand, to possibly serve as an occasion for an official recognition of the saint's figure by the authorities of our city, with the ultimate goal of erecting a church in his honor.
