The AXAGON ADSA-FP3 FASTport3 adapter connects SATA drives and optical drives to a computer via USB 3.0, with backward compatibility with USB 2.0. It supports 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives with SATA I, SATA II or SATA III, as well as 5.25″ CD, DVD and Blu-ray drives, with no limit on maximum drive capacity. It connects via an integrated 22 cm USB 3.0 Type-A cable. The LED indicator lights up when USB power is supplied and flashes during data transfer.

USB power is sufficient for 2.5″ HDDs/SSDs. An AC/DC power adapter is included for 3.5″ drives and optical drives. The adapter supports reading S.M.A.R.T. information, automatic drive hibernation after 15 minutes of inactivity, drive shutdown when the device is disconnected or the computer is turned off, as well as Hot Plug, Plug and Play, and booting from a connected HDD/SSD. It is compatible with Windows XP and later, Windows Server 2003 and later, Mac OS X 10.x and later, and Linux with kernel 2.6.x and later. Drivers are installed automatically by supported operating systems.
