Initially, I was worried about the comments regarding temperatures. In the end, I decided to buy it. I use it for productivity work (coding, data, etc.) and occasionally a bit of gaming. For cooling, I have a be quiet dark pro 5 and so far it hasn't exceeded 75 degrees. It hasn't been tested in any very demanding game so far, though (only in Witcher 3 next gen update and Mass Effect 3 legendary edition). I haven't regretted the purchase at all, the processor works flawlessly and doesn't lag anywhere.

  • The best you can get for this money! Mainly for photo editing and a bit of gaming (not 4K and crazy fps), it's fast and doesn't get as hot as the 7950 - If you have a higher budget, of course, without a second thought, go for the 9 series, but again it depends on the use you need.

Very powerful processor for any use. In the games I have used it, it is amazing (CS2, Valorant, LoL, PUBG) and in some Single Player (Senua's Sacrifice, God of War) I have incredible performance and stability in FPS. The only problem I have identified for which I have not found a solution yet is that my games always open minimized or have quite a hard time opening in full screen. However, I don't know if this is due to the fact that I now have an old graphics card (RTX 2070) or that the processor has an integrated graphics card and there is some conflict in the system. Overall, I highly recommend it with a good air cooler and a good thermal paste if you don't have liquid cooling (it does get a bit hot with the Dark Rock 4 Pro and Thermal Grizzly paste that I have)

A very powerful processor with very good efficiency.

What those who buy it should pay attention to are the temperatures and the RAM.

    Temperatures:
It is designed to run at 95C constantly and to boost up until it reaches that point. Once it reaches that point, it stays there as long as there is load. This means that the better the cooling someone has, the better the processor will perform, but it also means a lot of noise from fans and many people worrying when they see the CPU constantly in the red. Finally, it also means that anyone who pays for this CPU and doesn't invest in good cooling will have lower results than they could have.

    RAM:
Up to 6000 speed with ideal being 6000c30. At higher speeds, it loses performance due to becoming de-synced from the infinity fabric.

Excellent processor, but it also requires a very good motherboard in order to properly handle its Boost and overclocking capabilities. The motherboard should cost more than 250 euros to do the job correctly and not some cheap, low-quality one.

I consider it a challenge to push this processor. I play games, record, and stream on OBS, and it barely reaches 50%. The temperatures can reach 80-90, but it is designed to work constantly at 90+. Of course, with a good AIO liquid cooling system, this is achievable. On average, I have it at around 60 with the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280, and idle at 40. I have never seen a temperature above 91, and that only during benchmarking

Combined with Patriot Viper 6400 cl32, XMP enabled. Vdd:1.40, vddio:1.35, vddq:135. Fclk:2133 (in instability: memory 6200-fclk:2066), Pbo:-15, Scalar 2x, positive +100, High memory bandwidth: enabled, on Gb b650 gaming x ax, SMT: disabled, thermal limit 85. Performance increase of 15-16%. Incredible stability, incredible gaming performance. The only processor in the 7000-9000 series with such performance after the 9800x3d. The 8-core and 16-core cannot work properly with SMT disabled. The PBO at the values I have already given does not need a thermal limit. If you find it at a good price, buy it with your eyes closed, put exactly what I recommend, it is both cheap and works perfectly 100%. An Arctic 36 or even better a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 is more than enough, no comparison in temperatures with 7600x-7700x-7950x. It is cooler with these settings than the entire 9000 series. I threw away the 7800x3d, sold the 7700x, it is stronger than both, which were running maxed out

The processor is lightning fast with no freezing anywhere, but it gets very hot. It locked at 5Ghz / 1.1v and has not gone above 65 degrees with air cooling without losing any performance, I would say it's impressive.

Very hot processor. Definitely needs water cooling to avoid reaching 80 degrees with moderate load. I got it for my gaming PC, but I think it's overkill for gaming. Almost 90% of the time it sleeps when I run games. I would only recommend it to people who are involved in rendering projects (video, animation, etc.).

    Let's start with the positives!
    Performance
PCIe 5 support for storage and graphics (with X670E and B670E chipsets)
Built-in graphics card with impressive performance
AM5 socket with compatibility for AM4 cooling systems
    Unlocked multiplier
    DDR5 support
    AVX512 and AI instruction sets

    Now, the negatives
Does not come with a stock cooler, but needs to be purchased separately
Requires a powerful cooling system, ideally a 240mm or 360mm AIO or a Noctua NH-D15 level cooler
Increased platform cost (processor, motherboard, and memory)
System takes a long time to boot

This particular processor may be the best value for money from AMD's 7000 series, but it remains very expensive and the whole motherboard and DDR5 set is equally expensive. Nevertheless, it simply excels in multi-tasking and has no rival for this price range. I bought it mainly for 3D processing and it runs any application with many open windows without any problem. As for temperatures and power consumption, this processor always runs at 95 degrees when under stress and then depends on the cooler. Personally, I run it on PBO with negative curve and cap on power limit at 165w and 85c so that it is less hot than stock. You don't lose performance if you make small reductions (depending on the silicon you have). If someone has the money, I recommend it without hesitation, but if someone is considering it due to cost, they can wait a few months for the price and DDR5 market to settle. Finally, I would say that this particular processor is overkill for gaming.

    I went from an i7 6800k @4.2 6 core to an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X.
Easily reaches 5.1-5.2 all core with PBO and without PBO 5.1 all core, 5.6-5.7 single core/dual with Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420...
I haven't seen it go above 65c in games... it reaches 95c on all core 100% but with full fan speed it drops to 85c

  • Initially, I was worried about the comments regarding temperatures.

  • Very powerful processor for any use.

  • The processor doesn't lag. It's more than enough for 4K gaming. I don't know if there is something more value for money (probably there is) but for an AM5 build, it's great
