Description

Network video recorder (NVR) by Hikvision with resolution 4K and 8 channels. In the case of network video recorders (NVR), video data processing is done in the connected cameras, which are then transferred to the recorder for remote viewing and storage. This means that NVR systems are compatible with IP network cameras, which offer higher resolution video than analog cameras, and can be connected to the central unit via ethernet cable or wirelessly, when both the recorder and the cameras have Wi-Fi connectivity. The number of channels of a recorder corresponds to the number of inputs it has for the wired connection of the system's cameras.

Very good choice of recorder without freezes. It requires some familiarity with its operating system, especially for a beginner, but it is learned easily. Its fan makes a bit of noise, but with a little hacking, I fixed it by choosing a "silent" one combined with a temperature controller set to 40°C. I don't know how high the temperature went before, but it definitely reached 55°C (I am referring to the temperature of the heatsink, of course).

I bought it because of Acusense in order to utilize 2 older Hikvision cameras. Acusense does its job on these cameras, albeit with limited capabilities compared to modern Acusense cameras, providing the ability for region detection, line crossing detection, etc.
During use, I noticed a problem with the pre-record time in continuous or scheduled recording. The event playback mode does not work properly and regardless of the set pre-record time, the event playback starts 3 to 5 seconds later, resulting in the target being missed many times.
I decided to upgrade the firmware and to my surprise, there was no new firmware on the European page, only on the global page of Hikvision, despite the device being intended for Europe. There was no firmware on the Netherlands and UK ftp, only a reference to incorrect firmware K51 in excel format.
Despite the upgrade to 4.73.006, the problem with the pre-record time was not resolved. The completely illogical thing is that if the recording is not continuous, but only event recording, the pre-record and post-record times work properly

Very good recorder for its price, I have connected it with a tp-link poe switch for the IP cameras.
