Negligence represents not only a form of culpability but also an element of wrongdoing in both German and Greek criminal law theories. This study addresses the crucial and particularly contested points of the doctrinal concept of negligence that have occupied legal science.

The author thoroughly analyzes the problematic of the two aspects of negligence (external and internal) using examples from German and Greek case law of criminal courts. In this context, the concepts of internal and external diligence are presented critically and in detail, along with the so-called "standard of the average reasonable person" and all the related theoretical constructs that are supported.

Particular attention is given to the statutory form and structure of "negligence crime" in German and Greek criminal law. Finally, the work is supplemented by rich German and Greek literature.
