Description

The Behringer TD-3-SB Analog Gold is a compact analog bassline synthesizer that captures the essence of classic acid bass synthesizers. It is specially designed to produce rich and intense bass sounds, making it ideal for both electronic music production and live performances.

One of its distinctive features is the voltage control switch (VCO), which generates sawtooth and pulse waveforms. The string control allows tone adjustment approximately one octave above and below the central frequency, enabling flexible rhythmic modulation.

The TD-3-SB features an analog 4-pole low-pass filter with diode modulations, known for its distinctive sharp tone. The filter offers adjustable cutoff and resonance settings, enhancing the character of your sound.

An analog distortion circuit with an on/off switch further enriches the sound, allowing dynamic distortion and overdrive during playback.

  • 16-step sequencer with seven pattern chains
  • Ability to save and load up to 250 user patterns
  • Support for track and pattern functions

Connectivity options include MIDI in/out/thru, USB type B for computer integration, sync and audio connections via 3.5 mm jacks, as well as various outputs including CV and gate (3.5 mm), headphone output (3.5 mm), and main output via a 1/4" jack. The synthesizer also features a Poly Chain function, allowing up to 16 TD-3 units to be connected for polyphonic textures.

Additional features include:

  • Analog VCA for volume and sound modulation control
  • Physical dimensions: approximately 56 x 305 x 165 mm
  • Powered by included 9V DC adapter
  • Distinctive gold finish that adds visual appeal

In summary, the Behringer TD-3-SB Analog Gold synthesizer offers classic acid bass tones through flexible controls, a powerful sequencer, and modern connectivity features, all housed in an elegant gold casing.

The TD3 MO (Modified) is the version of the TD3, a clone of the legendary Roland TB-303, by Behringer at an affordable price for common mortals, with additional settings and connections, it has good build quality. Now, just because it has these extra features doesn't mean it's better than the regular version. If you are a beginner and don't have any other synthesizers and want to experiment with all these, you don't really need them. If you want to experience the 303 and the acid/rave scene of the 90s, it's better to get the normal version as it has a more direct sound without too much additional distortion effects. I have both and I use the regular TD3 as the main melody and the TD3 MO as the bass because it has the sub oscillator. You can listen to some tracks I play on YouTube
