The Hoya Creative No0.5 Softener filter softens the image by diffusing light through randomly arranged, ring-shaped distortions on the glass surface. It gently reduces contrast and softens edge sharpness, creating a dreamy atmosphere in the image. It is used primarily for portraits, where it softens the appearance of skin and conceals unwanted details, as well as in commercial photography, video, and lighting shots.
