Description

Description

With the "Makris & Livisios Small Asia Dictionary" I tried to gather and make accessible to interested parties everything related to the twin Communities of Makri and Livisi in Asia Minor [history, geography, folklore and information about people, places, and events], everything that signifies their existence and shapes their image.

Things that have either been preserved until recently through oral tradition [referring to my compatriots from Nea Makri, the previous generation, who constituted the strongest core of preserving this tradition, as well as the main source for me], or are scattered in books, magazines, and newspapers, sources that the present-day reader or possibly tomorrow's researcher finds it difficult to access.

As a general dictionary, the "Makris & Livisios Small Asia Dictionary" includes vocabulary and lemma-references.

The vocabulary of the "Makris & Livisios Small Asia Dictionary" is exclusively based on the vocabulary of the Makri-Livisian Dialect, as it was formed until 1922 and brought here by our ancestors from Nea Makri.
