This study examines the political discourse of ancient Greeks; in other words, it focuses on the ancient Greek discourse about the city, the citizen, and the political system, as well as politics, the political, and the polity.

The primary reference material consists of the numerous surviving texts of ancient Greek writers, poets, and prose authors, in which the development of their political thought is identified. These texts reveal various aspects of the political phenomenon, either directly or indirectly.
