The purpose of this work is to assist those who wish to be admitted to the music studies departments of Greek universities. We clarify that this is not a manual of harmony or music theory. However, we aspire for this book to help significantly increase the chances of success for the candidates. And this can only happen if they already have a solid foundation of music education from music middle/high schools or/or the music schools/conservatories they attended.

The work is divided into two parts. In the first part, we deal with harmony. Here you can find -for the first time- all the harmony topics from the exams from 1986 to 2010. In the second part, we address the music auditory skills test. Here you will find all the music auditory skills tests from 2003 to 2010, as well as 10 of our own tests created based on the criteria set by the Ministry of Education.

To help the student understand how exactly the auditory tests function and what 'secrets' emerge in the effort to recognize various intervals, chords, etc., the book is accompanied by two compact discs (CDs). The first contains the performances of our 10 tests, and the second features the actual performance of the music auditory skills test from 2005. We believe that these two discs can significantly contribute to the candidates' familiarity with exam conditions.

Finally, among the useful tables of the work is one that lists the admission bases for the four music universities in the country from 2000 to 2010.
