I may have received a defective model...
Some things I noticed in the few times I used it were obviously overheating, something I knew before I bought it, the battery drains very quickly, and the construction seemed good. I only managed to use the camera 3 times... the first time I used it for a few videos inside a car. The second time for photos in the sea, and the third time for videos in the sea where not only did water enter both screens, but it also entered the battery, causing irreparable damage to everything. I have already returned it and I am still waiting to hear if they will replace it. I bought it from a well-known chain store for electrical goods, and when I took it back to them, the person at the service center had no idea that the camera could be submerged in water... he insisted and wanted to dismiss me, saying it was my fault for putting it in water. Fortunately, I insisted and told him to check the website to see how it can be properly submerged in water without a case, and eventually he realized he was wrong and kept it to have it checked... It has been two weeks since then and I am still waiting.

I have been using it for 2 months, either for mountain biking or for spearfishing. The quality is incredible in videos, mesmerizing when you see the footage from a mobile phone and if you upload them to YouTube. It heats up if you record for even 5 minutes, but personally, it has never shut down on me. Usually, the videos I make are clips of 5-15 minutes max, and then I edit them in the go pro app, which is equally good and easy. The subscription is worth it solely for the cloud storage, as it is impossible to have everything on your phone due to the large storage space that each video requires (logical). The underwater shots are also very clear, full of color, and I haven't adjusted any settings, I just play with the lenses (wide, super wide, etc) depending on the situation. The sound is equally good, I have used it for hand-held shots as well (Athens Flying Week). I am very satisfied, and it is the only purchase I have made that I have used more for video shooting, as it is small, compact, and you can take it anywhere. For now, I haven't needed a second battery. It requires good management of what you will shoot and when, and not random shots. The smoothness is also professional, as if you have a gimbal.

I bought the GoPro 11 on Black Friday 2022 through their website (which is significantly cheaper than Greek stores), with the GoPro subscription (including the cost of the subscription), it came out to €425 with an additional battery. To buy an after-market charger + extra 3 batteries (€50) + the case with extras (€60) + 2 Sandisc Extreme micro SD cards (€50), it ended up being close to €600 in total, which I didn't calculate from the beginning.

2. Is it a good product?
It is definitely a decent product that records quality sound and video.

3. Is it worth the money?
I don't think so, and I will explain the reasons below.

I took a trip to a tropical environment and tested it in jungle water dust, sun, vibrations, hours of use, and overall put it to the test. Here's what I noticed:

***POSITIVES

• Exceptional stabilization even when running or on an off-road motorcycle.

• Decent and user-friendly menu with enough options for video, timelapse, and photo.

• Very good microphone, the recording is incredible as if you have a professional microphone.

• Very good app that allows for fast transfer of material to your phone and extra upload to the cloud + video editing (if you have the GoPro subscription, which is €50 annually).

• Good photos with HDR.

• The video is decent but didn't surprise me.

***NEGATIVES

• Very high cost, considering that you have to buy all the extras, as the standard version only comes with the GoPro and one battery. With €600, I could have bought a DSLR with much better photo and video recording and with many more accessories.

• The battery lasts very little, only 20 minutes if you record continuously in 4k. This makes it necessary to buy at least 2-3 batteries and a charger in case you go on a trip and use it several times a day.

• When recording in 4k or even worse, 5k, the temperatures it generates within a few minutes are unbelievable. You really can't hold it in your hands (it can be 60-70 degrees). Of course, I was in a place with an external temperature of 30-35 degrees, and it was in a rubber case, but even so, this is a big disadvantage. The DJI action camera achieves much better cooling, as I have seen in reviews. High temperatures cause rapid wear on the battery and camera chip. Even in 2.7k video, the temperatures it generates are still extreme.

• Night shots are disappointing, considering the cost.

In summary, it is definitely a worthy camera that records quality video (during the day), very good sound, and decent photos. However, the temperatures it generates during recording are crazy, and the cost is very high, especially when combined with the accessories and GoPro subscription. I would recommend someone to research the highly competitive DJI Osmo 3 action camera, which records equally quality video, has equally exceptional stabilization, keeps low temperatures, and costs 20% less.

I am not a professional cameraman nor do I do professional shots. I am a mid-range user who, after some attempts with other cameras, decided to return to GoPro because it had not disappointed me. I mainly use it for spearfishing and extreme situations such as in the car or on a motorcycle, water sports, and for vlogging (no, you won't find me on YouTube :P don't look for me, I'm telling you) on vacations.

The first impressions were extremely impressive. I wondered: did they manage to fit all these technologies into such a small camera? Honestly, when you realize what you can do and what kind of action camera you have in your hands, I can say that it was worth every penny (euro, okay).

Features & Design:

It is exactly the same as the 10 and 9, so most (if not all) accessories work for all three. It has 10m water resistance, although it would be good to get a housing if you do extreme sports like spearfishing, because when you're struggling with an octopus inside a hole to get it out, you don't care about the camera or the amount you've spent (true story, I have destroyed a camera like that). On the front of the camera, you will find the lens, the microphone, and a non-touch color LCD for viewing yourself when you turn it to selfie mode. On the top, you will find the power button and a second microphone. On the left side (as I see it, not you, don't get confused), you will find the mode button, and below it, a third microphone inside a special water-draining port. On the right side, there is the door for the battery and the microSD card, as well as a USB-C port for charging. And at the bottom, there are the little ears or whatever you want to call them that open and close, and you can replace them if you break them. (Now that I mentioned breaking, I have put tempered glass everywhere for safety first.)

Like every GoPro, it offers many modes, to be more specific:
- Photos: which are very good, especially outdoors.
- Video: which leave you amazed outdoors, but have their issues in low-light conditions.
- Time-lapse: such as TimeWarp, StarTrails, and many others that will make you want to capture everything in slow motion or fast forward.

Everything comes with pre-made modes that you can adjust through editing. The only downside is that you can't change their names, although I think they will add that in the new update since many users are requesting it.

It has Quik, with which you can do many things, such as adjusting settings, downloading updates, or uploading your videos to the cloud (something I wouldn't recommend because it slows down the internet, especially if you have it set to automatic and connect with mobile data, then you'll cry, and it takes a lot of time).

Performance:

They have changed the interface and made it as simple as possible, which makes it very easy to navigate, especially when you're in action. You can change modes either from the mode button or by swiping right or left. Under the sunlight, I can say that it is the best I have seen in a camera and it leaves you amazed. The videos are vibrant and rich in detail.

In terms of resolution, you can choose between 5.3K, 4K, 2.7K, and 1080p, each with different capabilities in terms of frame rates and aspect ratios. In the rest, the capabilities are really numerous and the experiments are just as many, although I wanted a plug and play camera, which this is not, since it took me many hours to find a balance between what I wanted to do. Worth mentioning is the 360-degree Horizon Lock, which is truly incredible. Once you needed a stabilizer to hold the camera, but now it does it on its own and it does it really amazingly. The 10-bit color, which the 10 didn't have, really works wonders for the image if you are into video editing. And HyperSmooth 5.0 can smooth out even the most jerky movements you make with the camera, providing a very, very smooth experience without compromising the video.

The biggest flaw, I would say, is low light situations, such as indoors or at night, where it cannot handle them and maybe it's not worth shooting videos in those conditions.

Finally, the enduro battery, compared to the 10, is slightly better overall, but you won't see a big difference. Still, when shooting in 5.7K, you will need 2 batteries on your trip, as it drains them quickly. It hasn't presented any problems with temperature or shutting down to protect itself, and I have shot videos in both summer and winter with snow.

Verdict:
Maybe not such a big leap from the 10, but definitely a milestone camera for the company that does many incredible things, and it will certainly satisfy even the most demanding user. It's worth buying and more.

Since it took me a long time to find the best settings (for me, at least), I have included in the images what I use, as the default settings didn't satisfy me.

What can I say, disappointment is the word that describes how I feel. I sent my GoPro 11 to be checked because it was overheating and they told me there was no problem. Today, as soon as I received it back, I tried to record a video at 2.7K and 120fps and after 25 minutes it overheated and shut down, and now it won't turn on at all. They checked it and said it was fine, but the same thing happened when I tried to record a video at 4K and 60fps. I don't know what to say, it's disappointing. (Is it normal for the camera to fry an egg right now?) I tried to talk to someone from the service, but I couldn't reach a human being, I was talking to their call center and I got the same result every time. I sent emails, but got no response. I don't know what to say, I'm a happy owner of GoPro 5 and Session 4, but I don't see any customer care from the service, they just don't care. I desperately asked someone from the service to call me, but nothing happened, only some girls from the call center tried to help me, but they couldn't do anything. I will send the camera back, I will send videos and photos to see what else I can do to get a replacement camera. (By the way, I read that if you get the VOLTA accessory, you can record 5K and 30fps for 3 hours, and I was wondering how is that possible, I just cry for the money I spent.)

(Also, the longest video I recorded was 25 minutes and then 16 minutes, and it goes down and down. Another thing, all the videos I recorded are in different resolutions and frames, and the camera behaves the same way at 240, 120, and 60fps in any resolution. My conclusion is that no one checked the camera.)

I got it in my hands on 23/9/2022 and so far I can say that it is a good tool with which you can take clean shots with enough light, even at night (using night functions). A very nice and creative action camera.

The big disadvantage is the Quik program, which with a subscription of 50€ guarantees that whatever you upload there, videos and photos in unlimited space, nothing is lost and all files are secure. Ok, yesterday I entered the program, I entered the menu where I saved the files there, and I found out that all these files that I uploaded to Quik disappeared forever and never reappeared! I regretted a lot buying the subscription with the false security of your videos. I suggest you do not upload photos and videos to the Quik program, but upload them to other media, to truly feel the security of your files.

Edit: The Quik program did not actually lose the files, now everything is in its place (probably it was a bug or a system error), but at the same time I recommend that you also save your photos and videos on other services, such as Google photos, Google drive, etc., for greater security.
