The optional speakers do not need to be positioned precisely. The sound bar takes care of everything with its built-in microphones, intelligently calculating the position of each speaker and optimizing the sound for your space. The sound bar offers sound field optimization with the optional speakers. Activate calibration during the initial setup or from the main menu.

Thanks to Sony's virtual Surround sound technology, the soundbar can position sound vertically, allowing you to experience 3D sound without the need for ceiling speakers or upward-firing speakers. The built-in dual subwoofer and front speakers feature the X-Balanced Speaker Unit. Their rectangular shape maximizes the diaphragm area for louder bass. It reduces the driver unit's excursion while maintaining sound pressure, resulting in less distortion and clearer vocals.

A lot of power is required for the accurate reproduction of low bass frequencies, and distortion often occurs (A). With Sony's unique signal processing technology, the Sound bar delivers dynamically extended bass at every volume level (B).

The optional wireless subwoofer allows the built-in dual subwoofer of the sound bar to handle bass and vocals, while the optional wireless subwoofer focuses on low-frequency sound. For even more cinematic thrills with sound coming directly from behind you, add the optional wireless rear speakers.

When connected to BRAVIA with Acoustic Center Sync78, the soundbar and TV become the central speaker of the home cinema system. If you connect the soundbar with optional wireless rear speakers2, the TV speaker becomes the central channel and the soundbar part of the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping system. This way, the sound perfectly matches the content on the screen for clearer dialogues and a complete experience.
