It is then observed how much reverence even cosmopolitan individuals have, who "stand" in enormous "queues" in order to kiss the holy icon, to lay a flower before the Theotokos, to light their candle, and primarily to confide to her "from the depths of their hearts" their problems, their requests, or their "thank you" and gratitude for some miraculous intervention in their lives.

For they know that the "Mistress of the World" is the "hope and protection of the faithful," does not overlook their requests, and intercedes for "the good and beneficial for their souls," without allowing anyone to leave her side "ashamed."
