The Octave HP 700 preamplifier looks back on a long and successful history, with the roots of its basic circuit originating from the classic HP 500 model, first introduced in 1986. This concept has been steadily developed for 30 years and has attracted worldwide attention.
Advanced tube technology and smart modular technology make the HP 700 future-proof from the start - an innovation in the market. The new HP 700 SE is a tube preamplifier that features both new precision technology and tonal improvements in output. Like its predecessor, its modular freedom covers the individual requirements of the listener for a truly customized hi-end setup.
In the new SE version, there are now two parallel XLR sockets next to the two RCA outputs on the rear side, allowing all types of bi-amping. The modifications to the actual Class-A output stage are even more significant. The quest for the finest sound was carried out with the help of extremely time-consuming and complex measurements, along with accompanying listening sessions. These challenging adjustments are responsible for the tonal improvements, especially the mid-frequency of the preamplifier.
The precision technology in the line stage means a circuit in tube technology that has an extreme bandwidth up to 1 MHz, impressively low output resistance of 100 ohms, and impressively low distortion of 0.001%. Three gain settings, combined with selected output resistance, allow for the perfect adjustment of the HP 700 SE to the characteristic needs of the audio playback chain.
The PSU technology, combined with the developed, high-precision, circuit-stabilized power supply voltage, ensures the stability of the audio output even when the network voltage exhibits wide fluctuations and high levels of interference. It is also added that the integrated logic control system guarantees maximum operational reliability.
The multi-channel bypass function allows the HP 700 SE to be integrated into existing home-theater systems. The logically controlled input selector activates the bypass function for an XLR or RCA input on the rear side of the preamplifier. The Home Cinema signal is present on all three outputs.
Additional customization options include modular inputs. The connection of the generously configured HP 700 SE model is complemented by two input adaptation options. An optimized input model can be used for unique applications, such as for an MC transformer or XLR input base. The plug and play models can be installed or upgraded at any time.
