    ____________________________________________

I bought this fan heater in 2022 (from the Greek Representative’s store) as a branded, European device (instead of the typical essentially no-name Chinese one) aiming for (i) reliability in use, (ii) effectiveness in operation, and of course (iii) the availability of support and spare parts, given that I consider 80 euros for a bathroom fan heater is already quite a lot, but securing those three elements I just mentioned.

My choice was made to avoid the more than double the cost – proven effective and from my personal experience – Stiebel Eltron.

I will COMPLETELY overlook the fact that for the 2kW power of both the Dimplex and the Stiebel Eltron I have, the Stiebel Eltron heats the same space maybe – if not in 1/3 – at least in half the time compared to the Dimplex. This review DOES NOT concern that at all.

At the beginning of the 3rd year of use (after the warranty expired) the fan heater showed the following problem: After 10-15 minutes of operation it would shut off (it is programmed to automatically shut off at 30 minutes of operation anyway, which is enough for the use I want it for). I thought it was the thermal safety and opened it (I am a mechanical engineer who also deals with electrical constructions) to clean any dust that might be hindering airflow, or that might have settled on the (NTC) thermistor, etc. "Unfortunately," everything was too clean to cause such a malfunction, which still remains, making the device practically useless.

Searching online on well-known European spare parts sites, but also after contacting the Greek Representative, they simply confirmed to me verbatim that "this product has no spare parts" (to be fair, on the spare parts sites, for this particular model, there is ONLY 1 spare part from the company and that is the cord (!) of the switch (worth 9 euros)).

Draw your own conclusions, for an 80 euro bathroom fan heater...

(note, when it shuts off as above, it can only restart after it cools down for 15 minutes, while replacing the thermistor does not change the behavior, after repair attempts, since it was found that there are no spare parts)

After moving in 2010 to our new home, we purchased this device and it never stopped working until last night, which saddened our family of four. It is a relatively small and cute device, reliable and efficient for a small bathroom. Set since the winter of 2010 at 2kW and on the medium setting, it served us without any problems, with the only maintenance being the external cleaning with the vacuum cleaner's brush. Until the very last moment, it didn't trip the switch to cause panic in the house; the protection unit simply worked internally. I recommend it a thousand times!!

I've had it for a little while. Brand name company, made in EU (Ireland). It takes up a little space and is simple to operate. It came set to 1000 watts and internally has a switch to go to 2000 watts if needed (you have to unscrew the cover to make the adjustment, it can't be changed while it's operating). It didn't smell at all, not even on the first use. Relatively quiet. Instructions in English. It does not include a cable on purpose so that the one needed can be installed depending on the bathroom. Installation only by an electrician (specific electrical specifications, specific distances from ceiling, faucets, shower, etc.), just like any built-in heater. For now, completely satisfied.

Stable value. I have installed them both in our country house and in our city home. They are durable and very practical. Simple Greek constructions. I recommend them.

Unacceptable to not have operating & installation instructions in Greek.
Furthermore, while it states that it is 1000W - 2000W and has a Low - Medium - High setting, in order to adjust it, you have to unscrew the cover, there is no external adjustment.
So, for someone who has no knowledge of electrical work, they would have to pay an electrician for installation (so far so good), but if they need to change the settings for 2000W, they would have to pay an electrician again.
