they could have done a better job at the joints with the sole ... they open slightly, not much but it shows ...

I have never had such truly bad shoes ever. 2 pairs torn in the first month, with normal use.
I won't touch Salomon again. It's a shame because they were trustworthy.

Overall, it is a good shoe, a bit pricey, but worth it. I have foot sensitivity due to a heel spur, and I can wear these for hours with proper support at work (as an educator) and so on.

They are comfortable for walking, although due to sensitivity, I avoid long walks. However, for moderate distances (3-4 km, for example), I can wear them comfortably. Definitely much better than other shoes I have had in the past.

The only downside is that they slip on wet roads/sidewalks. It's the known paradox of the industry that only puts the super material gore-tex in trail shoes, as if it doesn't rain in cities. In my opinion, every trail shoe has a traction problem on hard surfaces as soon as it rains.

I have been wearing them since August (5 months) daily and I measure 975km walking in the city and at my job (supermarket). The side "protective" parts are easily scratched compared to the previous model where the plastic that protects the small and big toe is thicker. In the union of the shoe with the sole, there is again this scratching, which breaks during the first few weeks of walking, and in general, the overall appearance of the shoe deteriorates very easily compared to the previous one, which lasted me a long time under similar walking conditions and I still wear it with a worn-out sole. That's why I give it 3 stars, the shoe looks like I've climbed Everest 2-3 times in a very short time. PS: It is dangerously slippery on wet sidewalks, metal lids, stairs, and tiles (like most Salomon shoes I have tried, including 2 others from the alphacross gtx series). PS2: The Goretex membrane inside has not been damaged, the shoe remains waterproof

First day wearing them today and it happens to be raining. I have a scooter and as I got on the bike, my support foot slipped and I almost had a heroic fall but I saved it at the last moment. I don't know if it's because they were new and combined with the wet asphalt it slipped. For this reason, I give it 4 stars. I will come back in a month when I have worn it enough for further comments

Very poor quality. We bought them in June and yesterday I took them to the cobbler for repair. Unfortunately, they tore on the sides and cannot be fixed, and the whole shoe has started to tear. I am referring to both shoes. The previous model was incredibly durable

Overall, the shoe is comfortable, quite stable for running or walking on trails, and has very good grip. The gore-tex is especially good for wet grassy trails after rain or in the morning when there is moisture, it is ideal. Overall, I am very satisfied in the first month. However, in the second month, the shoe started to come apart on the sides where the fabric meets the sole. So, the waterproofing is gone and I don't know how much longer it will last. I don't know if it happened to just me, but the fabric was minimal on the back part of the sole, so it's logical that it wouldn't hold up well and I believe it is clearly poor quality. If it had covered the foot lower, it wouldn't have come apart so easily. I use it 4-5 times a week for running and walking on the trail for 1 to 2 hours. I am attaching a photo where I have glued the fabric to the sole with elastic glue. My previous shoe for this use, the Dynafit Alpine Pro, lasted for 1 year.

In the first 5 trails I did on dry soil and a little bit of asphalt, they were perfect.
If the weather gets worse, I will test them in difficult conditions to see if they slip and if the gore tex does its job.

I happen to have the previous model (AlphaCross 3 but without GTX).
Lightweight shoes, with good construction quality and great material durability.
Salomon sizes are similar to adidas if you want to have a point of comparison.
The great advantage of the 4 GTX is, of course, the gore-tex membrane, which doesn't let anything through on rainy days. I received them 2 days before the Ariel storm hit my area with 10+ hours and 55mm of rain, and I went to work with dry feet. It goes without saying that if you use a motorcycle or a bicycle, they are not suitable for rain (prefer boots).
Negative (personal opinion) is their design. If it didn't have that plastic "handle" on the back, it would receive 5 stars. I bought them for 60 euros including shipping on Black Friday, an unbeatable price.
upd. 08/2023 After 580 km, the heels of the sole, especially in the middle, almost disappeared. I wore them on asphalt but mainly on forest roads. Needless to say, the next purchase was exactly the same.
