Little Jamey, at the age of 2½, is placed with an experienced foster caregiver, Cathy Glass, as an emergency case. The police and social services are forced to remove the two-year-old Jamey from his home because his mother leaves him alone all night to go out for entertainment.
When he first arrives at Cathy Glass’s care, he is frightened, hungry, and isolated, yearning for the love that has been denied to him for so long. He is small for his age and unsteady on his feet—resulting from spending long periods in a crib.
Cathy and her family find Jamey very easy to love, but as he starts to adjust and make progress, a new threat emerges. Coronavirus and the lockdown change everything.
