The Carbon Dome tweeter of the 705 S3 (carbon tweeter dome) is housed in a separate elongated sub-cabinet with the Tweeter-on-Top. This complements the speaker's new and subtly curved front baffle, which is adorned with metal decorative rings around the Continuum cone of the midrange.

A roof for high frequencies

The 700 Series features the latest generation of our iconic Tweeter-on-Top mounting system. The new, more elongated form incorporates a longer tube loading system that reduces distortions and delivers cleaner high-frequency sound. This carefully decoupled enclosure is made from a single solid block of aluminum for better resistance to resonance.

The Carbon Dome tweeters (with a lightweight aluminum dome and carbon layer) are specially crafted for the 700 Series. With significantly improved performance, the double dome tweeter has its first break-up at 47KHz, for exceptional behavior, linearity, and accuracy.

Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuum cone avoids the abrupt behavior changes that can affect the performance of a conventional driver. The result is a more open, natural performance that accurately and transparently renders voices and instruments.
