Description

S-Cinetone for a cinematic look without grading

The FX30 features S-Cinetone, which is based on the color technology that produces the renowned skin tones and colors of the FX9 and FX6. It delivers natural mid-tones essential for healthy skin, soft colors, and impressive highlights. Because S-Cinetone produces all of this directly within the camera, achieving a stunning cinematic look is very easy without requiring grading after production.

Dual Base ISO for Cleaner Images in Low Light

The dual base ISO feature offers two base ISO settings: one at ISO 800 and one at ISO 2500. This allows you to choose the appropriate noise level for clear images and to maximize the dynamic range of the FX30 when shooting in bright environments as well as in low light conditions. Additionally, a wide latitude of 14+ stops minimizes the risk of overexposing highlights or underexposing shadows in a variety of lighting conditions.

High-accuracy preview display of the final image with user LUT

When recording with the S-Log3 gamma curve, the low-contrast image on the screen can make it difficult to visualize the final image. For a more accurate preview, the FX30 makes it possible to apply customizable LUTs to the preview on the LCD screen and HDMI output, as well as embed them in clips to facilitate post-production editing. In addition to the preset LUTs, it is possible to import up to 16 user LUTs into the camera via a memory card.

Flexible motion with recording up to 4K / 120p

The FX30 offers 4K recording, at up to 120 frames per second. The exceptionally smooth 5x slow-motion imaging (max.) with autofocus provides new artistic possibilities, opening new horizons of creativity.

Recording Lamps

On the front top and back of the camera, there are recording lights. The REC button on the top of the camera also lights up and is connected to the rear recording light. To make it clear when the camera is in recording mode, a red frame appears on the screen, so the operator can easily confirm that recording is in progress.

Two media slots compatible with CFexpress Type A

The camera's dual media slots are compatible with CFexpress Type A cards, as well as SDXC/SDHC cards that support UHS-I and UHS-II speeds. CFexpress Type A cards are the new standard in small-sized storage media, offering fast write/read speeds for recording 4K video at high bit rates. The dual slots provide simultaneous and relay recording.

Imaging Edge Mobile

Imaging Edge Mobile offers support for remote control from smartphones and tablets. Additionally, it features wireless touch tracking control and touch focus, for convenient handling of autofocus and transferring still image files and video files.

Environmentally Conscious Design

Sony Group continues to accelerate its environmental plan "Road to Zero," aiming to achieve zero environmental footprint by 2040. Measures have been taken to reduce the environmental footprint of this product at every stage of its life cycle. These include the use of recycled materials in production, managing the environmental impact in the supply chain, using renewable energy sources in production, and using recyclable packaging materials without plastic.

I got it recently for an A cam in my videos, it is very good for video, if you are video first it is 100% worth it since it has almost the same things as the fx30 minus the aps c sensor. At this price I don't think there is anything better for video.

Okay, I have no words. It couldn't be better at this price. And for those who talk about the Crop lens. Yeah, right! The only negative is its battery

Very serious tool which, however, you must know how to use. Personally, I use it for mysteries and events. Very powerful in handling iso (not at the level of the fx3 of course), plethora of options in codecs, compression, and profiles. Zebras and focus peaking very convenient. The huge advantage compared to mirrorless hybrids is of course its resistance to temperature, which makes it a very reliable tool for mysteries that usually have a lot of heat. Not to forget to mention the variable shutter that essentially eliminates flicker. I fly it with a rig on a ronin rs4 and its use is a PLEASURE. I take it from there, attach it to a professional video tripod and with the connectivity it provides, its use is again a pleasure. Its lenses are very affordable. Really a great tool, get it with closed eyes. The only negative thing I would say is its battery. Ok, we can't have it all in such a small body. 10/10

Perhaps the best crop camera from Sony. Ergonomically, it has the best grip in the hand out of all the cameras I have had.

Positives: Very good stabilization, similar to the GH5 but with specific Sony lenses, build quality, screen, autofocus.

On the negative side, the ISO after 1600 has a lot of noise in the blacks (profile s cinetone)

I bought it from Cyprus. It is a masterpiece for those who want to get into filmmaking and do not have a big budget. Although it is an APS-C camera, I prefer using it with FE lenses, even though I have minimal chromatic aberrations.

It has a dual ISO base, which means you can increase the ISO without much grain in the footage, and it is a very reliable tool for low-light conditions, even though it is a crop sensor.

It takes two cards simultaneously for backup, and I would recommend using UHS-II cards with a minimum speed of 300mb for optimal results.

With the battery, you can record almost two hours in 4K at room temperature.

It has the S-Cinetone profile, which is excellent for accurate color grading in human skin tones.

It is the ultimate entry-level tool for a relatively experienced videographer, not a beginner as Sony presented it.
