Just as we must inform children about various possible dangers (“What do we do in case of an earthquake?”, “What do we do if a stranger approaches us?”, “What do we do if we get lost on the street?”), we also need to inform them about the possibility of sexual harassment. “What do we do when someone, whether we know them or not, starts to violate our privacy and makes us feel uncomfortable?”, “How can we set boundaries regarding our bodies?” This is a conversation that can begin at a very young age—even from infancy. The way, frequency, and reason we touch our children or other children send a non-verbal message about what is allowed and what is not. If touch, a hug, or a kiss first passes through the step of the child’s consent, then we have already laid the first stone for this very important protective shield. Children learn to recognize and follow their own needs and desires.

As a story, it is quite short, more like an example to prevent children from leaving with a stranger who may approach them and the sexual harassment that may arise, but the material it has at the beginning and the end for parents and educators is interesting.

For 3.5 years old, I don't think it's understandable. At 4, they somewhat started to grasp it and have some questions for us to discuss. I believe it's more suitable for children from 5 years old. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful book with many stimuli for discussion, and well-written so that children can recognize intentions.

Excellent book! My little one (4 years old) understood about the "bad" crab from the characters' expressions. Amazing illustrations! The way it is read by the person reading also helps the little ones to understand the meaning of the story.

Excellent for children aged 3.5 to 6 years old, it has very nice poems that narrate the story of the seashell and shows very descriptively how the seashell should not feel guilty because the bad crab dragged it away from its mother.
